I can relate to ‘Wrong Planet: searching for your Tribe’. The first chapter made me realize my ‘condition’ has a name! I certainly fit in with the Carefree Scamps. I loved being taken back in history, learning things I never knew about the ‘70’s rock ‘n roll music industry, and what an amazing woman Bessie Stringfield was. Almost every chapter is an insightful peek into a famous person’s life and death - and their Tribe! The book is written in typical Karl Wiggin’s style; humor with heart. I highly recommend! I enjoyed the photos as well. ‘Death is a Pigeon’ will stick with me. Are you a Rag, Tag & Bobtail? See what Tribe you're in.

Loved this book. It’s another fun romp with Karl Wiggins. In amidst the entertainment, there is a lot of serious thinking going on here about how people find themselves, and how they end up with their people, or “tribe.” Wiggins has considered groups of people by their personality types (or socio-economic types) and has put them into different camps. Wiggins belongs to the Carefree Scamps camp, which I can well believe. He includes vignettes about famous people you will recognize, and then you also get to meet some of the people who’ve influenced his life (including photos). Wiggins claims his main goal is to give “direction to comedy and purpose to satire.” You will enjoy this book!
